An Article on My Soul to Take

I wrote an article on the movie My Soul To Take (2010).

Opinions on this movie range from love to hate. Perhaps since Wes Craven was the writer, viewers expected a major horror/slasher film, but that was not Craven's intent.

Comments on Being Human

I posted the following on my "other" blog at: http://enterparanormal.blogspot.com/
Since it relates to werewolves, vampires, and ghosts...things I love and what I write about, I thought I'd also plunk it down here, too:

Being Human - BBC - Odd Episode

Last night's episode of Being Human on the BBC network was really awkward. Maybe I was distracted because I have another project bouncing around in my head, but I don't think so. Almost everything about the show seemed "off". The acting, the storyline, the normal bits of humor thrown in, everything! I didn't fall asleep or nod off during it, either. I was wide awake. All the scenes were torture to watch. It felt disconnected, didn't flow like it normally does. The interaction between the characters was also whacked out. The "boy" vampire was no doubt creepy, and meant to be that way, and it was an episode of angst and heartache and decisions. I understand, but, wow! I kept glancing at my husband and shrugging my shoulders. A few times I think I commented on how something seemed weird or I couldn't understand what they were even saying. I truly love the show and this episode won't force me to say goodbye to Mitchell (mmm...), George (hilarious) or Annie (so cute & lovable) but I can't wait to see what rabbit the producers and writers pull out of their hats for next week!

Mega Updates!

Can you say OMG?! The Vampire Diaries last night was outstanding! I felt like I was watching a movie! Constant in your face action - I must've thrown my hand up to my mouth 5 times in shock! Now we won't see any episodes until April!!! Oh, the pain!

BOOK TWO UPDATE: If you're wondering what stage I'm at, here you go:
I am waiting for the editing process to be completed and the book cover finalized by the publisher.

The publisher told me a release date of March 31, 2011.

I have given them my choice of book cover, author bio, author photo, book synopsis, and other information.

I have typed up a FAQ page for the website - for Book Two. http://www.ginamarielong.com/
BUT I won't post it until the book has been released. Of course, it will be "spoilers" if I'm answering questions about that book =)

I have 2 excerpts on standby...a few more weeks before I post them. I'd like the editing process completed first. So, it's a waiting game at this point...

Also, I have started writing a brand new series!! I'm taking a "pause" on the Werewolf Series for a few months to dive into another paranormal/thriller/urban fantasy trilogy. More news on that soon.

I'll be busy chatting up Unknown Scent-Werewolf Series-Book Two (& Book One), which will include book signings, and need to be working on another project to keep a "balance" so I don't overdose on one thing. And it's important for an author to expand and offer more stories to readers...the new series has a subtle tie-in to the Werewolf Series but can be read independently. So exciting!

Chapter 12 Teaser

"Was there an underlying, evil presence waiting for the opportune moment to consume his thoughts and take over his body?" – a TEASER from Unknown Scent, Werewolf Series, Book 2, Chapter 12.

Outlining

This morning I had a flood of brain activity for my next book. Quickly jotted down an outline that I can barely decipher. Thank God I know how to read chicken scratch.

Arnold

Here's the start of an article I wrote about Arnold Schwarzeneggar:

Arnold Schwarzenegger-Possible Terminator 5?
A fifth Terminator film could be in the works, a report says, just days after Arnold Schwarzenegger commented he would like to return to acting. Schwarzenegger "tweeted" his desire to star in films to his followers on Twitter. Schwarzenegger is 63 years old and recently ended a seven-year term as governor of California. He rose to fame playing the main cyborg in the first Terminator. "I'll be back," was a line he made famous and anyone who even remotely watches movies would know he's the one who said it.

Quote that relates to Me

This is a quote I've read before, but for some reason it hit home today:
"Inactivity breeds inactivity. You have to create action."
My problem is - which action should I focus on for the best results? And I need to keep my choo-choo train on its tracks instead of constantly derailing from distractions or breaking apart and veering off on ten different tracks all at once. How's that for a visual?
After all (another quote): "If you expect opportunity to find you, it won't."
Something that makes you go hmmmm....

General Chit-Chat, New Article

Survivor starts (again) tonight! I'm the oddball that has NEVER missed an episode! One time, the power went out due to an ice storm & we grabbed a rechargeable 3" TV & finished watching it that way!

Amazing dog that won the Westminster Dog Show - I didn't watch the show, but saw the Scottish Deerhound that won. Huge & very majestic!
